GMZBC Sunday School Drama Workshop




Those of you who missed the workshop missed a treat. Over 40 people signed up for the first ever GMZBC Drama Workshop. The topics of discussion included Dance, Acting ( adult and children ), Media and Public Relations, Make-Up, Props and Set Design, Music and Voice, Writing and Producing /Directing. The theme for the day was “Sharing God’s Glory Through Creative Ministry”. Our facilitators included Bonita Billingsley Harris, Public Information Officer for the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office and former reporter/anchor women for Channel 13 News. She is a member of Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church in Chesapeake. Patricia Pickett founding ministry Visionary/Director and Producer of Mount Bethel Baptist Church Praise Productions Ministry in Virginia Beach. Teresa Harris spiritual leader and founding member of Women In Touch Ministries and a member of Mount Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church in Chesapeake. Ruby Pool Minister of Music at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church. Johnese Blackwell member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist church in and past Director/Visionary of Creative Spiritual Expressions. Martinique Jennings and Armana Kelly students at Norfolk State University and past NSU "Dynisti" dancers. Armana is a journalist major at NSU. Martinique is a member of the Creative Spiritual Expressions Praise dancers at Greater Mount Zion and a Mass Communications major at NSU. Michelle Ferebee a member of Calvary Revival Baptist Church in Norfolk and an administrator at Indian River Middle School. Sharon D Cook a teacher at Maury High School and an actress with the Harrah Players. She is a member of New Life Providence Church in Virginia Beach.

Our day begin with continental breakfast and devotions followed by a mini skit performed by Marquisha Jennings and Martinique Jennings. The participants were then dismissed to their various classes. A special lunch was provided by Sis. Diane Seymore and Sis. Yvonne Banks. The day ended with a rap up session and a special performance by the dance class. Closing remarks and presentations were made by Sis. Cynthia Jennings, Deanna Johnson and Feliscia Williams the workshop coordinators.
